Context
Product-service system design

Mio is our solution to the emotional disconnect during long-term hospitalization of chronically ill children. It acts as a bridge, connecting siblings, supporting parents, and strengthening the bond between child and caregiver.
A tangible Mio device is given to the hospitalized child and linked to an app. At home, the sibling interacts with Mio digitally, prompting real-time reactions in the device and encouraging shared play. The app also connects parents within the pediatric department and includes a care passport to record and share the child's personal care preferences with hospital staff.

System Overview

User Journey
Receiving Mio
Making a profile in the Mio app & filling in care pass with child.
Intervention
Sibling: checking status of sick sibling, tiring Mio by playing games & building your island, getting educated in the library, playfully annoying each other. Parent: collecting memories, connecting with other parents.
Check-up
Charging Mio through caring interactions; cooperation completes goals.
Going home
Reuniting the family with shared memories and a strengthened bond.
The product-service-system design project is a very complex project and consists of multiple layers. In case of interest, I would like to invite you to watch our video. This briefly explains the working of Mio and everything around it.
